Summer in the city means TGIF Jazz in the Parks, a tradition that has truly become an integral part of the community's life.

Since 1986, the City of Carlsbad's Cultural Arts Office has been presenting free jazz concerts in the city's parks during the summer. In 1986, there were four concerts, with about 150 people at each concert. Now each concert attendance reaches approximately 4,000 people.

2011 Summer Concert Season

The annual concert season begins in late June and continues every Friday evening through mid-August. Concerts begin at 6 p.m. and end at 8 p.m. and are free.
