Past redevelopment programs have assisted city and county governments to eliminate blight and given new life to deteriorated areas. The Village Redevelopment Plan expired in 2010 and the Carlsbad Redevelopment Agency was dissolved in 2012. However, revitalization efforts will continue in the area through the use of other tools and completion of previously initiated redevelopment projects.
- The Village Master Plan continues to be the guiding document for development.
- Development standards adopted by the City Council in the fall of 2007 are still applicable.
- As of May 1, 2012, the responsibility for processing land use and other related permits in the Village Area has transferred from Housing & Neighborhood Services to the Community & Economic Development Department. Contact 760-602-4610 with questions.
