Family Open Studios

Family Open Studios are free art-making workshops designed for the whole family's participation. They are presented in conjunction with exhibitions at the William D. Cannon Art Gallery, which is part of the Carlsbad City Library complex at 1775 Dove Lane off El Camino Real. There is usually one Family Open Studios program per exhibition, but check the schedule for details.

After a visit through the Gallery, a specially designed art project related to the exhibition and suited to all age levels is presented in the outdoor Courtyard. Assisted by professional artist/instructors, participants create their own works of art - and then get to take those works of art home.

All materials and workspace are provided. Each workshop takes place from 11am to 2pm; no reservations are required and participants may arrive and depart at will. Family Open Studios are free of charge.
