About the Cannon Art Gallery

National quality with a regional focus, variety and balance, introduction of new work to the area, engaging young audiences -- these are just some of the goals of the William D. Cannon Art Gallery's changing exhibition program. With its museum quality exhibitions ranging from traditional folk art to contemporary site-specific installations, the 2,000-square-foot Cannon Art Gallery is truly a focal point for the visual arts here in North County.

Additional programs and activities associated with the Gallery include Family Open Studios, a hands-on art-making program designed for the whole family; the innovative and highly popular Three-Part-Art education program for Carlsbad's third- and fourth-graders; lectures; gallery tours; and publications.

General Information

The William D. Cannon Art Gallery is a program of the Cultural Arts Office/City of Carlsbad. Admission to the Gallery is free.

Location

The Gallery is located in the Carlsbad City Library complex at 1775 Dove Lane, Carlsbad, CA 92009 (off of El Camino Real, just north of Aviara Parkway).

Tuesday - Saturday: 11 a.m. - 5 p.m.;
Sunday: 1 p.m. - 5 p.m.

Directions to the Gallery

Coming from the north
From I-5, exit Palomar Airport Road. Go east on Palomar Airport Rd. Turn right onto El Camino Real. Go south on El Camino Real. Turn right onto Dove Lane. (If you pass Aviara Parkway, you've gone too far.)

Coming from the south
From I-5, exit La Costa Ave. Go east on La Costa Ave. Turn left onto El Camino Real. Go north on El Camino Real. Turn left onto Dove Lane (just after Aviara Parkway).

Parking and Accessibility

There is plenty of free parking in front of the complex. The Gallery is handicap accessible.
