PERSONNEL BOARD

Membership

• Five members appointed by the Mayor with the approval of the City Council. Members must be residents of Carlsbad and normally serve four-year terms. No person shall be appointed to the board who holds any salaried office, employment or appointive position with Carlsbad.
• Staff Liaison: Human Resources Director

Meetings

• Meeting times and locations

Duties

• Hears appeals submitted by any non-management personnel relative to any disciplinary action, dismissal, demotion or charge of discrimination.
  (Recommendations regarding appeals are advisory to the City Manager.)
• Hears grievances which have not been resolved to the employee's satisfaction at the City Manager's level.
• Recommendations regarding grievances shall be advisory to the City Manager.
