Lorraine M. Wood was first elected Carlsbad City Clerk in November 2002. Prior to the election, she served as the appointed city clerk beginning in January 2000. Her duties include serving as the city's election official, legislative administrator and records manager. She is a graduate of Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas. Lorraine and her husband, Mike Ballard, have lived in Carlsbad since 1989.
