Membership

The Sister City Committee consists of nine members appointed by the mayor and confirmed by the City Council. The committee members represent the various elements of the community, such as business education, cultural and artistic, and service. Members normally serve four-year terms and must be residents of Carlsbad.

Meetings

• Meeting times and locations: Regular meetings are held the second Wednesday of every month.

Duties

The Sister City Committee plans and implements programs that foster mutual understanding and goodwill between the citizenry of the City of Carlsbad and the citizenry of any city duly designated by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad as a "Sister City." The City of Carlsbad Cultural Arts Office financially manages the Sister City Program. The Sister City Committee is responsible for all fundraising to support the program.
