WATER AND SEWER RATES, FEES AND CHARGES

Billing Practices

The City of Carlsbad bills its water and sewer customers on a monthly basis. To determine whether your property is located within these districts, please view the Water and Sewer District maps. The billing period is normally 30 days and based on the water meter reading date. If you begin service in the middle of a billing period, all charges are prorated.

Charges paid after the due date are subject to a ten percent late fee. Charges not paid after 30 days are considered delinquent and are subject to additional fees. Charges will continue to accrue until you notify The City to discontinue service (see "Discontinuing Service").

Water Rate Structure

The current rate structure is a flat rate of $1.76 per unit (one unit equals 748 gallons). A conservation rate of $1.59 is applied based on meter size and usage:

Users of recycled water are charged at a discounted rate of $1.68 per unit.

A service record setup fee of $25.00 will be assessed on your first bill. Other charges are:

Sewer Rate Structure

Single-family residences are charged $16.20 per month. Other customer classifications are billed based on water use.
