HEART ATTACK

IF YOU THINK YOU ARE HAVING A HEART ATTACK CALL 9-1-1 IMMEDIATELY

Don't hesitate to call 9-1-1 if you think you may be having a heart attack. The Fire Department has trained professionals who can evaluate your condition and transport you to the hospital if necessary. Don't take chances with your life. It is our job to be there for you in a medical emergency.

The most common warning signals for a heart attack are:
Uncomfortable pressure, fullness, squeezing or pain in the center of the chest that lasts more than a few minutes, or goes away and comes back.
Spreading pain that radiates from the chest into the shoulders, arms or neck.
Chest discomfort with lightheadedness, fainting , sweating, nausea or shortness of breath.
Less common warning signs of heart attack:
Atypical chest pain, stomach or abdominal pain.
Nausea or dizziness.
Shortness of breath and difficulty breathing.
Unexplained anxiety, weakness or fatigue.
Palpitations, cold sweat or paleness.

Not all these signs occur in every attack. Sometimes they go away and return. If some occur, get help fast. Don't hesitate to Call 9-1-1. The fire department will respond with trained personnel to evaluate your condition and transport you to the hospital if needed.
