Interested in Developing Your Own Library Balanced Scorecard? The project is searching for twenty-four or more libraries that would be willing to develop their own Library Balanced Scorecard. The project will be developing a workbook, which will be available in October 2005. Your library would "test drive" the workbook and follow its suggested steps in developing your own library's balanced scorecard. Meeting weekly, it will take between 2-3 months for a scorecard implementation team in your library to come up with your own scorecard. Typically scorecards are updated quarterly. The project coach, Joe Matthews, will be available to respond to questions and concerns that you might have as you work through the process in developing your own scorecard. We would expect that you would make suggestions for improving the workbook as well as sharing the strategy map and balanced scorecard that your library develops. In September 2006, you would be expected to distribute a brief questionnaire to your library stakeholders (city manager, city finance manager, city council, county board of supervisors, library board members, etc.) so that we can evaluate the value and utility of using a balanced scorecard to communicate the accomplishments of your public library. If interested, please send a email to Joe Matthews at joe@JoeMatthews.org indicating your desire to participate as well as letting us know the size of your annual budget, collection size, number of branches and contact information so that we can add you to our list. |
