FRIENDS OF THE CARLSBAD LIBRARY

The Friends of the Carlsbad Library have been in existence since 1964. The "Friends" is a nonprofit, all volunteer organization that is dedicated to raising funds to support many ongoing programs for the Carlsbad Libraries.

Some of the items available for purchase at bargain prices are gently used books, magazines, greeting cards, puzzles, sheet music, vintage records, Videos, CDs, tapes, and audio books. Gift Certificates are available.

Donations are welcome! Your donations make a difference!

What do the Friends do?

• Raise money for Library activities and programs
• The "Friends" operate the Friends Bookstore at the Dove library
• Maintain the Friends Mini-bookstore at Cole Library
• Hold an annual Book Sale at Cole Library
• Conduct Silent Auctions of rare and unusual books
• Publish the "Friends Forum" newsletter, featuring Library and Friends information

Where does the money go?

• Carlsbad Reads Together Program
• Children's annual Summer Reading program
• Year-round children's programs
• Renovation of the Dove Library Children's Garden
• Poetry Program
• Teen programs for grades 7-12
• Purchase of audio books
• Purchase of multiple copies of best sellers
