Library Cards
Anyone with picture and address identification may obtain a library card at no charge, by coming into the library. Applications are available at the checkout desk of any of our libraries or by clicking here.

Current information about items you have checked out, their due dates, and the status of items you have placed on hold is available by accessing your On-Line Account.
Notification Selection
Due date reminders and notification of items being held for you are sent as a courtesy. You may choose to receive these by email, automated telephone notification or by U.S. mail. For more information on email notification, click here or to sign up for email notification, click here. To sign up for automated telephone notification, download the form and return to a Carlsbad Library facility.

Returning Materials from Other Libraries
The Carlsbad City Library belongs to the Serra Cooperative Library System with the other public libraries in San Diego and Imperial Counties. The System conveniently makes available additional resources to users of each member library. Books checked out from other area libraries can be returned to any library within the Serra Cooperative library system.
