CLASSES AND TOURS

Carlsbad City Library's reference librarians provide library skills classes, tours, and booktalks to groups, organizations, and school classes.

Classes

Library Skills Classes
Reference librarians offer Library Skills Classes for adults. These sessions offer instruction on using the library catalog, on-line databases, and other resources in the reference area of the library. Please contact the Dove Reference Desk at (760) 602-2038 or the Cole Reference Desk at (760) 434-2871 to sign up.

Computer Workshops
The Library offers a number of workshops, including beginning and intermediate Internet and beginning word processing. Please call the Dove Computer Lab at (760) 602-2039 or the Cole Reference Desk at (760) 434-2871 for additional information, or click on the links below:

Computer Tutoring
Get one-on-one help with email, Internet, MS Word and MS Office with a volunteer computer tutor. The tutor can also cover the same material that we cover in classes on a one-on-one basis. Call the Dove Computer Lab at (760) 602-2039.

Tours

Bring your group to the library and the librarians can show you how to find what you need on the shelves and in the catalog and computer indexes. This is especially good for school classes when they are beginning a research project and need to know where and how to start. The reference librarians can customize the tours to your group's specific needs. Please call the Dove Reference Desk at (760) 602-2038 or the Cole Reference Desk at (760) 434-2871.
