City Offers Community Activity Grants

The City of Carlsbad invites applications for its annual Community Activity Grants program. Funds totaling $10,000 will be awarded for programs that enhance the quality of life for Carlsbad’s residents and visitors. The grant application deadline is Monday, June 3. Applications and guidelines are available on the City of Carlsbad website, http://www.carlsbadca.gov/business/grants.asp.

A committee consisting of seven residents will review applications and make funding recommendations to the City Council that best meet the Community Activity Grant criteria. The panel consists of four residents and one representative each from the city’s Senior Commission, Library Board of Trustees and Parks & Recreation Commission.

Previous Community Activity Grants recipients include the Move Your Feet Before You Eat! Foundation for Carlsbad Winter Fest, CORE Educational Services to support leadership development and outdoor enrichment activities for Carlsbad youth and Carlsbad Causes for Community to help stage the Carlsbad Village Scavenger Hunt.
