Robbery at Verizon Store Investigated

On August 22, at 7:23 p.m., the City of Carlsbad Police Department received a call of an armed robbery that occurred at the Verizon store located at 880 Carlsbad Village Drive.

Reportedly, two males entered the store. One male displayed a handgun and ordered the three employees to the back storeroom area.  A third male joined the first two and loaded an undetermined number of cell phones into a bag. 

The employees were ordered to lay on the floor and the three males fled the area in an unknown direction of travel before officers arrived.

The suspects were described as follows:

  1. A black male adult, approximately 20 to 30 years in age, approximately 6’3” and 240 lbs., last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and sunglasses.

  2. A black male adult, approximately 20 to 30 years in age, approximately 6’1” and 190 lbs., last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt.

  3. A black male adult, approximately 20 to 30 years in age, last seen wearing a black jacket.

The suspects fled the business on foot and at this time there is no known associated vehicle.

This robbery investigation is ongoing.
