Two PWC Riders Collide on Agua Hedionda Lagoon Resulting in Major Injuries

On October 05, at 3:48 p.m., Officers from the City of Carlsbad Police Department responded to a major injury personal watercraft (PWC) collision on the Agua Hedionda lagoon.

The preliminary investigation suggests that two PWC operators were riding rented PWCs on the lagoon when they collided.

The collision caused major head injuries to a 47-year- old male from Fontana. The injured party was transported to Scripps Medical Center in La Jolla.

The second PWC operator has not yet been identified. It is unknown if alcohol or drugs were a factor in the collision and the cause of the collision or fault has not been determined.

The investigation into the collision is ongoing.. Anyone with information about this collision is encouraged to call the Police Department at 760-931-2197.
