Sherman Williams' Employee Reports Strong Arm Robbery

On March 18 at 6:07 p.m., the City of Carlsbad Police Department was called to the Sherman Williams Paint store located at 7040 Avenida Encinas regarding a robbery.

The caller, a 21-year-old female employee, reported that a Hispanic or white male wearing a black sweatshirt and a ski mask knocked on the rear door of the business at closing time. When the employee answered the door, the subject reportedly struck the employee on the head with an unknown object.

The subject then forced the victim into the store where he demanded the employee give him the cash from the registers. The employee gave the cash to the suspect who then fled the scene on foot in an unknown direction.

The loss was approximately 600.00 dollars in U.S. currency.

No weapons were seen by the victim at the time of the incident.

The victim sustained no visible injuries from the incident.

Officers searched the area with the assistance of the San Diego Police Department’s Air support Unit, but were unable to locate the suspect.

A search for the suspect and an investigation into the robbery is ongoing.
