Pedestrian Invloved in Traffic Collision

On August 5 at 9:10 p.m., the City of Carlsbad Police Department responded to the intersection of Carlsbad Village Drive and Jefferson Street regarding a vehicle that collided with a pedestrian.

On arrival, officers found a 2010, Hyundai Elantra with moderate damage to the hood.

Officers also found a 30-year-old white female who sustained head injuries, laying in the traffic lanes of Carlsbad Village Drive. 

The City of Carlsbad Fire Department provided medical aid to the pedestrian and she was subsequently transported to an area hospital for her injuries.

An initial investigation revealed that the pedestrian crossed the street against a red light. The pedestrian was travelling north through the intersection when the driver of the vehicle, who was travelling east, collided with the pedestrian.

The severity of the pedestrian’s injuries are unknown at this time.   

The Police Department’s Traffic Division responded to the scene to conduct an investigation into the collision.
