With a sound straight out of Louisiana, the Bayou Brothers deliver a rousing, rollicking good time full of endless enthusiasm to every performance. An eclectic blend of traditional Zydeco, blues and R&B, this rocking musical jambalaya transports audiences straight into a Mardi Gras celebration.
Sunday, Aug. 26, 2 to 3 p.m. Los Pinguos Carlsbad City Library, Schulman Auditorium, 1775 Dove Lane
Los Pinguos came to the United States from Buenos Aires, Argentina, with a mixture of Latin rhythms, reggae, rumba flamenca and rock. Los Pinguos participated in the television show, “The Next Big Star” and won the grand prize. Since then, they have recorded seven CDs, appeared on the famous Putumayo World Music compilation albums and performed for fans across the world.
The July concert is sponsored by Friends of the Carlsbad Library and the August concert is sponsored by the Carlsbad Library and Arts Foundation's Robert H. Gartner Cultural Endowment Fund.
