Carlsbad City Library is hosting two “Meet the Author” events in July and August. Admission is free.

At a Glance

Hawaiian Adventure
Sunday, July 15, 2 to 3 p.m.

Georgina Cole Library, 1250 Carlsbad Village Dr.

Join us for a celebration of Hawaiian culture featuring an author talk and Hawaiian snacks. We’ll delve into Dr. Sandra Bonura's latest book, Light in the Queen's Garden, the historical account of an American woman who landed in the Kingdom of Hawai`i at the end of the 19th century and became closely involved in the greatest political turmoil the Hawaiians had ever experienced.

Summer Reading Panel
Sunday, Aug. 5, 2 to 3 p.m.
Carlsbad City Library, Schulman Auditorium, 1775 Dove Lane

Meet award-winning authors Michelle Gable (The Summer I Met Jack, I’ll See You In Paris), Liz Fenton (Girls’ Night Out), Janna King (The Silver Shoes) and Jill Hall (The Seasonaires). Their books highlight 1950s romances and scandals, a time-ticking mystery and secrets, romances entwined decades apart, and darkness hidden by summer pleasures.

Each program will include a discussion with the authors followed by a book signing.
