Searching for Stellaluna Special Event, 8/18

The City of Carlsbad is hosting Searching for Stellaluna, a special event featuring the picture book Stellaluna and local author Janell Cannon, on Aug. 18 at the Carlsbad City Library complex, located at 1775 Dove Lane. Admission is free.

    • Book reading with harpist Charissa Barger: 1:30 to 2 p.m., Cannon Art Gallery
    • Book signing and slide presentation with Ms. Cannon: 2 to 3 p.m., Gowland Meeting Room
    • Book reading with harpist Charissa Barger: 3 to 3:30 p.m., Cannon Art Gallery
  • Copies of the book will be available for sale.

  • Stellaluna is Carlsbad author and illustrator Ms. Cannon’s story of a lost young fruit bat.
  • The exhibit currently underway at Cannon Art Gallery presents all of Ms. Cannon’s original artwork created for the book.
  • Attendees are invited to visit Ms. Cannon working on a new painting in the Cannon Art Gallery on Fridays from 1 to 3 p.m.
  • William D. Cannon Art Gallery is open Tuesday through Saturday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, 1 to 5 p.m.
