Vehicle Burglary and Theft Prevention

A large number of the crimes to vehicles in Carlsbad are to unlocked vehicles. Please take a moment to review the following prevention tips.

Whenever possible:

• Park your vehicle in the garage
• Remove personal property and anything of value
• Lock the vehicle and take the keys with you
• Close the garage and lock all the doors into your house

If you cannot park your car in the garage:

• Park it as close to the house as possible where you can see it
• Park it under a light
• Take all your personal possessions with you
• Lock the vehicle and take the keys
• Consider an anti-theft device like a "kill switch"
• Consider an anti-theft device for your stereo
