REGISTRATION PROCEDURE FOR ENRICHMENT CLASSESGeneral InformationThe Carlsbad Recreation Department offers many enrichment classes from which to choose, each designed for your enjoyment. Questions and correspondence regarding class registration should be referred to the appropriate location. Please see individual class details for more information. Registration Procedures | Preregistration is requiredClasses are filled on a first-come, first-served basis at the beginning of each period for all classes and trips except Gymnastics, Preschool, Ballet and Tap &Jazz classes. Registration procedures for the above exceptions will be listed in the Enrichment Class descriptions for each class. We will take registration on a continuous basis. Carlsbad Residents have priority during open registration. For current dates and times, please view CarlsbadConnect.org. Registration and processing dates are listed for each event. Waiting lists for all classes other than Ballet, Tap & Jazz, Gymnastics and Preschool will be kept on a session basis. Carlsbad residents have priority on all waiting lists. Class schedules, fees, instructors, policies and procedures are subject to change. If class minimums are not reached, classes are subject to cancellation. Classes are closed when class miximums are met. A $25 service fee will be charged for all returned checks. The Release from Liability on the Registration Form must be signed by an adult, parent or guardian. Please enclose a self-addressed stamped envelope if you would like a receipt with confirmation of enrollment, or call to confirm your reservation. Note: Class schedules are correct up to the last possible minute before publication, but may be subject to change. Mail-in RegistrationPlease use the Registration Form. If you are registering for more than one class, you MUST send separate checks for each class. Please make checks payable to the CITY OF CARLSBAD and mail to the appropriate community center as follows:
Phone-in RegistrationCarlsbad Residents* may phone in registration during office hours, Monday-Friday, 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. (Please have VISA or MasterCard and class information before you call). *Proof of residency must be provided prior to program start. Walk-in RegistrationWalk-in registration is for Carlsbad residents and non-residents during office hours, Monday-Friday, 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. *Please provide proof of residency. Drop-Off RegistrationDrop-off registration is for Carlsbad residents and non-residents. Place registration form and check in sealed envelope and drop in front mail slot at the appropriate site. *Proof of residency must be provided prior to program start. Refund PolicyWhen the City cancels a fee supported Recreation program, the participant or payee shall be eligible for a full refund. When a registrant requests a refund prior to the second scheduled class or by trip deadline date and paid their registration by check or cash, the refund will be granted minus a Cancellation Check Processing Fee of $20, and the prorated fee for the first attended class. If Visa or MasterCard was used to pay the registration fee, the refund will be granted minus the prorated fee for the first attended class. If the registrant prefers to have a credit to avoid the Cancellation Check Processing Fee; a credit will be issued regardless of method of payment. The credit is good for 12 months from date of issue, and may be used for any Recreation Department program. After 12 months, any unused credits will be written off. Once a credit is issued, it cannot be exchanged for a refund. Beginning on the second class date, no refunds or credits will be given. If a registrant fails to attend a program after it begins, the registrant is not entitled to a refund. There are NO CASH REFUNDS. All refunds will be mailed approximately two to three (2-3) weeks after a request for refund is received. |
Classes are not usually held on holidays. Makeups are normally on break weeks. Consult your instructor for exact day and time. Bimonthly and monthly classes don't hold makeups for holidays. Attention parents and guardians |
