RECREATION DEPARTMENT - OPPORTUNITY GRANTS PROGRAM

Opportunity Grants

Every child deserves the opportunity to learn, explore and have fun. Our Opportunity Grants program provides access to Recreation programs for families that may not otherwise be able to afford it.

Support Opportunity Grants - Donate Today

Beyond having fun, children who participate in Recreation programs learn life skills, engage in healthy activities, and socialize in safe environments. Your donations help children in our community participate in camps, classes, aquatics and many other activities. Only Carlsbad families will benefit from your generosity.

Contributions of any amount are accepted. Just $150 pays for a year's worth of activities for one child - experiences which, to them, are priceless. To donate, call (760) 602-4680 or download a donation form.

About the Program

Carlsbad Recreation Department Opportunity Grants give youth, ages 17 years and younger, the opportunity to participate in Recreation classes, camps and aquatic programs that they may not otherwise be able to afford. Grants of up to $150 per child are made available to low-income families that live in Carlsbad. Families must meet income eligibility criteria and complete a grant application with supporting documentation. Applications are available at any community center, or online.
