2008 CARLSBAD HEALTH & WELLNESS BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES

The City of Carlsbad wishes to invite you to take advantage of an exciting opportunity to showcase your business and/or service. During this weekend of highlighting Health and Wellness, Carlsbad will be hosting a community Health & Wellness Expo and the 26th Annual Carlsbad Triathlon. There will be tremendous community exposure and marketing presence available to merchants and service organizations. On-site sales in conjunction with great branding and logo visibility, as well as product displays and service promotions, will assist in driving traffic in-store for retailers. The event has 1,200 race participants and with the high tourist season (July 7th weekend) you can expect 3,000-5,000 Expo attendees and Triathlon spectators. The numerous opportunities are as follows:

CARLSBAD COMMUNITY HEALTH & WELLNESS EXPO:

Don't miss your chance to be a part of the 2008 Carlsbad Community Health & Wellness Expo. The date and time for this year's Expo is Saturday, July 12, 10:00 – 4:00pm, and Sunday, July 13, 6:00 – 12:00 p.m. The location of the Expo on Saturday is at Pine Avenue Park, 3333 Harding St. and Sunday the location is at Tamarack Surf Beach.

The built-in publicity and advertising surrounding this health oriented weekend makes this the perfect venue for your company to reach today's health conscious citizens and active-oriented market demographic. The Expo will contain exhibitor booths from companies ranging from resorts and active sports equipment to lifestyle products and health/fitness services.

How to Apply (EXPO VENDOR):

  1. Receipt of completed application form with full payment.
  2. Description of product, services, and/or sales items.
  3. Signed Vendor Agreement (once approved).
  4. Copy of current Carlsbad Business License. (for selling vendors only) (For more information on obtaining a Carlsbad Business License, call 760-602-2495 or visit our web site at www.ci.carlsbad.ca.us/buslic/.)
  5. In addition to a business license, all food vendors must have a San Diego County Health Permit. (For more information on obtaining a San Diego County Health Permit, please call (619) 338-2363 or visit www.sdcounty.ca.gov.)
  6. Copy of current liability insurance policy listing City of Carlsbad as an additional entity insured. Call for current liability insurance policy regulations.
  7. Exhibit space is limited. Space will be allocated on a first-come, first-serve basis determined by receipt of payment.
  8. Maximum 3 vendors per profession/product.
  9. Application for exhibit space must be received no later than June 22, 2008.

Business Vendor: To qualify to be a Business Section Vendor in our show, you must meet the following criteria...
  • Have a Carlsbad Business License. (if you are selling products or services)

* Space is limited. Priority is based upon receipt of payment.

Community Resources Vendor: To qualify to be a Community Resources Vendor in our show, you must meet the following criteria...
  • You MUST be a non-profit organization.
    Community Resource vendors are in our show to distribute information about their organization/department... not to sell product(s) and/or make money.

Fees for Community Resources vendors are as follows:

Saturday (July 12) ONLY!
  • $100 per space
    * Space is limited. Priority is based upon receipt of payment.

OTHER OPPORTUNITIES:

Goodie Bag Insert:
Insert sample products and/or advertising material in the Athlete and Volunteer Information Kits (approximately 1,500). Product or flyer/catalog/magazine to be supplied by the vender/exhibitor.

  1. Receipt of completed application form with full payment.
  2. Description of product and/or materials.
  3. Signed Kit Insert Agreement (once approved).
  4. Application for kit insert must be received no later than June 22, 2007.
