CityStuff consists of six sequential lessons, all of which conform to state educational requirements. Approximately one classroom hour is devoted to each lesson.

The first four lessons are Junior Achievement lessons highlighting the businesses and jobs. The last two lessons are specific to the community and government of the City of Carlsbad.

• Lesson One: Inside Cities  -- Learn the importance of city planning.
• Lesson Two: Building a City  -- Understand the value of the construction business to a city's economy.
• Lesson Three: Dining Out -- Students start a restaurant.
• Lesson Four: Making Headlines -- Examine the purpose of a newspaper to a city.
• Lesson Five: All About Carlsbad -- Discover how each person's vote counts.  
• Lesson Six: To Be or Not To Be: The Tree  -- Learn how citizens participate in city government.
