The Crossings at Carlsbad golf course has volunteer positions as course greeters and on course player assistants.
Volunteers participate in offering customer service to all guests arriving at the Crossings to golf, eat in the restaurant or attend meetings plus many other functions. Participants volunteer their time between 10 and 13 hours a week and receive in return free golf, free use of the practice facilities and rewarding benefits in the pro-shop and restaurant.
Greeters are primarily stationed at the front of the building where they greet arriving guests and golfers, direct golfers to their golf cart, offer information about the golf course, answer questions about the course and give advice on the unique characteristics of the course that will make their round a more enjoyable experience. Greeters also shuttle golfers to and from the practice facilities.
Player Assistants duties are very similar to that of Greeter, however, Player Assistants offer assistance to golfers while on the course. They provide information on course layout, point out targets on blind shots, help locate lost balls, answer questions and explain the practice of "Ready Golf" to facilitate an enjoyable and time sensitive round of golf. Player Assistants are also available in case of an emergency by providing assistance and notifying the proper emergency response teams.
