A residents committee is relied upon to promote a balanced consideration of the broad range of perspectives on issues affecting Carlsbad’s future.  The Envision Carlsbad Citizens' Committee serves to provide information to community/interest groups, encourages broader community participation, and provides continuity of participation throughout the entire community visioning process.

The Envision Carlsbad Citizens' Committee is comprised of 19 Carlsbad community members that represent the following perspectives:

• An environmental perspective (3 committee members)
• A social perspective (3 committee members)
• An economic perspective (3 committee members)
• General citizen perspective (8 committee members – 2 from each city quadrant)
• Youth perspective – high school students (2 committee members)

On October 14, 2008, the City Council appointed members to the Envision Carlsbad Citizens' Committee.

The Draft Carlsbad Vision Report will be presented at Planning Commission:
