Bay area artist Joe Brubaker and a group of visiting artists and designers will collaborate with local Mira Costa College Art Students and artists on transforming the gallery into an installation piece called “The Exquisite Garden.” These artists and designers will use a collection of found objects, discarded materials, and scrap metal to transform the space into a sculptural garden. Surrounding the garden will be figurative sculptures by Joe Brubaker.
Karen McGuire, the Cannon’s Curator of Exhibitions, has selected five artists from the 2011 Juried Biennial to be showcased in this 2012 Invitational Exhibition, including Robert Ecker (painting), Becky Guttin (assemblage), Roy Jenuine (sculpture), Robert Nelson (drawing), and Sasha Koozel Reibstein (ceramics).
