Opera Previews offer an advance, in-depth look at productions by the San Diego Opera. This lively series of hour-long, multi-media lectures by opera musicologist Dr. Ron Shaheen are presented on one Saturday morning each month, January through April, and cover the opera being performed that month.

- the history of the opera’s productions

This Opera Season
Puccini, Verdi, Gounod… Dr. Ron Shaheen has quite a lineup for his 10th year as the guide to the San Diego Opera’s 2010 season. With outstanding visual projections and musical selections culled from legendary productions, Dr. Shaheen offers an in-depth look at the history, musical style and story behind each production, making the audience feel they’re already seated in the mezzanine.
Entrance tickets are distributed starting at 9:15 a.m.; doors open at 9:40 a.m.
