This Opera Season
Meet merry trickster Figaro, bloodthirsty siren Salome, obsessed Ahab and his crew, and an entire town of love-addled Italians living in the Wild West! At our popular Opera Previews, Dr. Ron Shaheen brings his wit and enthusiasm to in-depth explorations of San Diego Opera’s four 2012 productions. Every presentation includes photos and video samples of outstanding performances in these roles by operatic greats. With two classic Italian comedies, Richard Strauss’s seductive music and Oscar Wilde’s scandalous libretto for Salome, and the San Diego debut of the acclaimed new opera Moby Dick, this year’s Opera Previews promise a treasure trove of delights.
Entrance tickets are distributed starting at 9:15 a.m.; doors open at 9:40 a.m.
