Get a Library Card

Anyone (residents and nonresidents) with picture identification and proof of address may obtain a library card at no charge. Applications are available at all three Carlsbad City Library locations or download an application and return it to the Library.

Accessing my account provides information about items currently checked out, item due dates and the status of items on hold.

Due date reminders and notification of items being held are sent to patrons as a courtesy. Patrons may choose to receive these by email or automated telephone notification.

Renew by phone at 760-603-9563, in person or via the online catalog. DVDs and videogames must be returned to a Carlsbad City Library location.

The Carlsbad City Library belongs to the Serra Cooperative Library System with the other public libraries in San Diego and Imperial counties. The system conveniently makes available additional resources to users of each member library. Books checked out from other area libraries can be returned to any library within the Serra Cooperative Library System.
