Masters Swim -- Additional Info and Monthly Rates
The Masters Swim is a coached adult swimming fitness program. The coach provides a structured and supervised workout in a lane with swimmers of similar ability.
Upon joining, individuals will be screened by the coach into one of four levels according to speed and conditioning. Participants swim 2,000- 4,000 meters per workout. Each workout is designed with a warm-up period, a main set of intense intervals and a cool-down activity. Each segment is necessary for a safe, effective conditioning program and individuals should not enter the workout once the warm-up period (the first 10-15 minutes) has ended or leave the workout without cooling down.
The pool provides lane lines, pace clocks, kickboards and pull buoys. Each person must provide his own suit, cap, goggles and towel.
Due to the possibility of injury, hard plastic (or other material) hand paddles are not allowed in the pool without the coach’s prior approval. To train using increased resistance, flexible fabric or neoprene gloves are recommended.
Lockers are available daily at no cost. Please bring a lock and remove it after working out. PLEASE USE THE FREE bag check service, available during the weekday NOON workout. DO NOT LEAVE ANY PERSONAL ITEMS IN THE LOCKER ROOM. Please keep bicycles clear of gates and doors. Owners are responsible for his own bicycle’s security.
NOTE: The city does not assume responsibility for any personal property. Lost-and-found items are placed in containers on the north pool deck and removed weekly.
