Reasonable accommodations
Requests for reasonable accommodations for recreation classes, camps, programs or events should be made at least three weeks in advance of the program or event. Participants requesting reasonable accommodations should speak with a member of the Inclusion team and schedule an appointment. All participants, regardless of ability, are required to abide by the department T.R.U.S.T. Code of Conduct.
A member of the Inclusion team meets with participants to discuss needs and personally collect information that will help determine if a reasonable accommodation is necessary. During the meeting a brief questionnaire will be completed. All responses are kept confidential. The information provided is utilized for assessing participants’ individual needs. The meeting may also help to address any specific needs or additional questions. The Inclusion team will review the information and make recommendations for appropriate accommodations that will be offered to encourage inclusion. A member of the Inclusion team will contact the participant within ten business days of the meeting to discuss the recommended accommodations.
