The 2012 summer camp guide is available at community centers throughout Carlsbad.  Be the first to view hundreds of specialty camps including those you look for every summer as well as some fantastic new theme camps! 

Resident online registration begins February 29, 2012 at 7 am. 

Each week, choose from a variety of camps filled with fun activities that are designed to nurture your child's unique interests. 

Camps offer a safe environment filled with fun activities that encourage your child to develop positive relationships with peers. The specialized, half day camps focus on a specific area of interest like adventure, art, cooking, performing arts, sports and fitness or science and technology.  These camps are facilitated by independent instructors with specialized education/training.   View ALL NEW! to see a complete list of exciting new camps offered this summer.

Abrakadoodle - Art Camps

Abrakadoodle offers 3 hour specialty art camps based on a variety of themes.  Your child will explore the world of imagination through, art, music, games and stories.  From the old favorites like Bugs and Butterflies to the newest PINK, PINK, PINK; Sparkle, Glitter and Glam; Surf's Up Beach Party your child is guaranteed to enjoy this wonderful art journey.  Your child enters a world of colorful imagination.  Instructors provide parents with a daily update on activities which include photos.

Arimaw Productions - Adventure/Cooking/Performing Arts Camps

Arimaw offers a variety of multi-activity 5 hour camps facilitated by credentialed teachers.  One of the most popular camps in previous years was, "Top Chef" camp.  This summer they have developed two new cooking camps, Cooking A Book and Leaning Tower of Pizza. 

Also premiering this summer are two new Performing Arts camps "Tween Glee" and "Green Screen Technology".  With new Green Screen Technology the camp will create a set, write a script and actually film a short movie starring themselves!  Tweens will learn choreography, design costumes and sing their way into your hearts. 

The Crossings at Carlsbad-  Junior Golf Camp

The Crossings will offer recreational summer golf camp with instruction coordinated by PGA member Steve Vaughan.  The camps will offer an introduction to the FUNdamentals  of golf such as putting, chipping, full swing and game etiquette.  Clubs will not be provided.

Diana Stein - Art Camps

Diana's camps, "Artstravaganza" and "Squiggles and Giggles" at the Historic Leo Carrillo Ranch develop artistic training in a natural environment and create visual connections through literature, art history and multi-media.  Each summer provides the same great quality with all new projects!

Mark Keefer-Tennis Smash Camps

Hit the courts and have a smashing good time in tennis Smash Camps at Stagecoach Park.  Mark will inspire players to develop their skills, improve strokes and understand tennis etiquette through innovative techniques and Mark's enthusiastic teaching style.

Play-Well Teknologies-Science and ExplorationPlay-Well's engineers develop innovative curriculum to create new challenges for the expert LEGO builders and this summer they are back with some great new LEGO engineering camps like Jedi Engineering and Green Engineering in addition to Engineering FUNdamentals and Pre-Engineering FUNdamentals.

Frank Fleming - "Famous Frank" - Tennis Camps

Frank offers fun interactive tennis camps at Poinsettia Park.  "Serve It Up" has been one of the most popular sports camps at Poinsettia Park for many years.  This summer the diversified offering offer opportunities for children of all ages to get in on the fun.  "Little Rippers" introducing the younger camper (5-6 years) to tennis for the first time.  Serve It Up (ages 7-12 years) is back by popular demand.  Players learn etiquette, scoring, rules while developing strokes and competition skills.  For the older more experienced youth tennis players this summer a new camp "Rippers!" (10-15 years). 

Have a smashing good time in Mark's Juniors Smash Camp (8-14 years) this summer.  Or get an introduction to tennis at Pee Wee Smash Camp (5-7 years).  Either way the 2 hours tennis camp will develop playing skills while developing knowledge of rules, etiquette and scoring.  Mark is a very experienced player with just the right amount of patience and compassion which creates a great mixture for a fabulous tennis camp experience.

Super Moverz - Sports and Fitness Camps

Super Moverz is a sports training program that allows kids to blast into a world of fantasy, fun and fitness.  Experienced trainers use their special teaching powers to help inspire kids to increase their skills, including: ball handling (catching, throwing, hitting, kicking), balance, agility, reaction, will power, focus, teamwork, safety, and many more. 

Wonders! Science - Science Camps

This summer we are welcoming Don and Josh Miller to Carlsbad and can't wait for your child to experience this amazing hands on science camp filled with more than 50 experiments and 30 exciting science demonstrations.  Wonders! Science creates a science lab that brings innovation and experimentation to a whole new level!

Registration: Online registration is now available, or visit any community center.

Medical Release Forms (PDF) - Every participant must provide a completed medical release form (original) prior to the first day of camp. 

Snacks and Lunch: Please send a snack and drink with your child each day for every camp.  For camps over 3 hours please send a sack lunch.

Refunds and Cancellations: You may cancel a camp registration at any time prior to the first day of camp and receive a full refund. No refunds will be issued after the start of the second day of camp. No exceptions. Once a camp begins you are eligible to withdrawal and receive a credit less the fees for the first day of camp. Please review the refund policy for complete details. 

Sign in/out procedures: Children must be signed in and out by authorized adult each day. Please bring a valid photo ID. If there is another adult authorized to pick up your child please provide a written notification to the camp instructor on the first day.
