The Carlsbad Parks & Recreation Senior Center partners with independent contract instructors for classes held at our Senior Center location. Carlsbad Senior Center programs provide diversified programming that develop new interests or fosters further development of a specific skill or training. Our quality programs provide a variety of benefits and encourage lifelong learning.
Senior Center programs
Class sessions are offered in two, four or six-week formats. Programs are reviewed and evaluated based on the following criteria:
Submit a new proposal
The Carlsbad Senior Center accepts new class/camp proposals on an ongoing basis. To submit a new class for consideration, you will be required to provide the following:

The Parks & Recreation Department accepts new proposals on an ongoing basis. Proposals are reviewed in the order they are received. Proposals are retained on file for a period of 12 months from the date received.
New instructor requirements
Contracted instructors are required to provide a current resume and references, a Carlsbad business license and appropriate liability insurance. Contracts are valid for one calendar year.
