Ken Short joined the Senior Volunteer Patrol in October 2007 and in the last six years has completed over 3000 hours of service toward our community. He retired from the United States Navy with a rating as Quartermaster 1st Class and had performed this arduous duty aboard a ballistic missile submarine among other Silent Service vessels.
Ken was promoted to Patrol Leader in 2010. He has performed his duties in a professional manner and always achieved complete mission accomplishment.
Ken has been able to manage some recent family hardships and still meet his commitment to the Senior Volunteer Patrol. In fact, he has on numerous occasions, made himself available for extra duty when the situation required his help. His total life experiences have contributed to his ability to handle difficult situations in a calm and effective manner.
Ken is COMPASSIONATE and has continually offered solid advice and constructive input regarding day to day operations of the Patrol.
Ken is RELIABLE and ACCOUNTABLE, availing himself to fill in the gaps when his fellow SVP’s cannot work.
Ken has been an integral part of the SVP’s success since 2007.
Ken has demonstrated leadership, a positive attitude, a hard work ethic and a selfless commitment toward the city of Carlsbad as a Patrol Leader.
