Concert Do's & Don'ts

TGIF Concert Policies

It’s easy to have fun at TGIF Concerts in the Parks, and to ensure that everyone can make the best of these special events, please read and follow the guidelines below.

  • Arrive after 4 p.m.
Concert sites will open to the public at 4 p.m. No audience seating or picnicking of any kind will be allowed on-site before 4 p.m. Live performances are from 6 to 8 p.m., with an intermission and a special opportunity drawing at 7 p.m. sharp.
  • Park Smart or Rideshare
All temporary parking signs will be enforced. There’s a variety of ways to make your arrival easy. Utilize the loading zones, relax on the free shuttles from nearby parking lots or arrive in style with a rideshare service. More information on Parking and Shuttles here.
  • Keep a Low Profile
The center section at every concert will only be open to low-backed chairs (with a seat that is 8 inches or less from the ground), picnic blankets or other on-the-ground options. In all other sections, it is recommended to bring low backed chairs so everyone can see the great music on the stage, but understand that some audience members require a specific seating option due to limited mobility.
  • Shade
Umbrellas are welcome until the music begins. After the concert starts, all umbrellas or shade structures of any kind must be folded up and put away to ensure sight lines for all concertgoers. The only exception is directly along the back fence, where umbrellas or shade canopies can remain up during the performance.
  • Watch Your Kids
Children are always welcome, but please keep a watchful eye on them and keep them with you at all times. Any young artists visiting Family Open Studios must be accompanied by an adult.

  • When the Music Stops
Concerts end at 8 p.m., and all audience members must exit the park by 9 p.m. The event staff and stage crew need a safe environment to return the park to its pristine state. Your cooperation is most appreciated in leaving the park in a timely matter. Remember, last shuttle is at 9 p.m. and parking lots close at 9:30 p.m. sharp.
  • Code of Conduct
Any and all directions from TGIF staff, security or Carlsbad Police will be followed for the safety of all guests. If any behavior of concert attendees adversely affects any other party’s enjoyment of the performance, or is determined to be unsafe, the attendees in question will be asked to cease that behavior immediately and may be asked to leave.
  • No Pets
Pets are not allowed in city parks at any time, and any on-site dog parks will be closed after 3 p.m. on concert days. Please leave your pets at home. Service animals as defined by Title II and III of the Americans with Disabilities Act are welcome.
  • Prohibited Items and Activities
Items and activities that are not allowed at any time during TGIF Concerts in the Parks:
  • Smoking or vaping of any kind is prohibited within city parks at any time
  • Bicycles inside concert venues. Bike parking is available at the entrance of every park
  • Banners or large signs
  • Any kind of flyers, handbills or soliciting of any business
  • Personal barbeque pits or grills of any kind
