William D. Cannon Art Gallery

National quality with a regional focus. Variety and balance. Introduction of new work to the area. Engaging new audiences... These are just some of the primary goals of the changing exhibition program that have made the William D. Cannon Art Gallery a dynamic center for the visual arts in San Diego’s North County. Through museum-quality exhibitions, hands-on family activities, acclaimed arts education programs, lectures and publications, the gallery strives to make the visual arts an accessible, integral and ongoing part of the community’s life.

Infinite Light: A Photographic Meditation on Tibet by Marissa Roth

March 19 – May 21, 2017

Photographer Marissa Roth’s exhibition Infinite Light is a visual poem of seventy-two color photographs of her impressions of Tibet, show with some of the last available Kodachrome film. Former director of the Museum of Photographic Arts, Arthur Ollman wrote the introduction to the exhibition. The exhibition is being released in conjunction with a limited book edition of the same title. Three prominent Tibetans contributed to the book including the foreword written by HH The Dalai Lama.

Past Exhibits

The William D. Cannon Art Gallery presents five exhibitions annually that range in subject matter and scope, from historical prints and photography to contemporary painting and drawing to American and International folk art in an effort to actively promote a cross-cultural education in the arts.
