Cinema Club

Whether you love comedies, dramas, musicals or foreign films, the Cinema Club has a movie for you!  

Celebrating the Art of Cinema

Film is a modern visual art form that entertains, educates and enlightens. Spanning a wide range of genres, themes and styles, they represent the breadth of human experience in society through the visual medium of storytelling. Whether a foreign film, an edgy drama or a nostalgic musical, film invite audiences to enter new worlds and broaden their perspective by experiencing a filmmaker’s vision. 

All films are presented with free admission and seating is based on a first come, first served basis. Screenings are located at the Carlsbad City Library, Schulman Auditorium at 1775 Dove Lane.  

Foreign Film Fridays 

Enjoy the best of world-wide cinema twice each month with selections that have been recognized by critics as representing some of the finest cinema from across the globe. Films are screened with English subtitles at 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.

Wednesday Film Series

The Carlsbad Film Series is diverse mix of films, providing cinema fans with the latest movies representing the best and the brightest from Hollywood and worldwide. These films are screened the last three Wednesdays each month at 6 p.m.

Saturday Cinema Series

The Cinema Series begins at 1:30 p.m. with a pre-cinema chat led by a film expert, followed by the film screening at 2 p.m. and post show discussion. Take a deeper dive into a film, its significance and its impact on audiences.

Upcoming Special Cinema Events

Sign up for Cinema Club mailing list and you’ll receive notifications of special events designed to appeal to the avid film fan.  Mailing list forms are available at each film screening. These events offer you a special film experience and provide you with an opportunity to meet and chat with other cinema enthusiasts.
