The California History and Art Program at Leo Carrillo Ranch Historic Park has been created to introduce appreciation for art, a unique Carlsbad historical site and a cultural icon. This free program is offered to fourth grade students on a first-come, first-served basis for specific dates from 9 to 11:30 a.m. and will reach program objectives through the following program activities:
Pre-visit information and videos for classroom teachers.
Exciting field trip and guided tour of the historic rancho.
Hands-on art project inspired by the beautiful grounds of the Leo Carrillo Historic Park.
Important Details: This program is offered free of charge to schools within Carlsbad. We will begin accepting reservations from Carlsbad schools beginning Tuesday, October 4th. Reservations will become available to neighboring school districts on October 18th for a fee. Schedule your field trip early and have an alternate date(s) in mind in the event your first choice is not available. A maximum of 51 classrooms will be accepted, only one class (up to 36 students) per day. Each classroom is responsible for providing transportation to and from Leo Carrillo Ranch Historic Park, however, limited bussing grants may be available to Title I schools.
