La Costa Glen Trail will be temporarily closed on Aug. 14 from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. while we perform some trail maintenance work.
The La Costa Glen trail is located in southwest Carlsbad adjacent to a linear open space corridor along Encinitas Creek. This soft service trail is easily accessible off El Camino Real at Calle Barcelona or Levante Street. Hikers will be pleasantly surprised by the sounds of songbirds in the riparian vegetation along the creek. This area is sometimes referred to as Green Valley. The southern maritime chaparral located in Green Valley supports critical populations of Del Mar manzanita and Encinitas baccharis as well as major populations of wart-stemmed ceanothus and Del Mar Mesa sand aster.
This trail also extends to the south and connects to the city of Encinitas trail that leads to Leucadia Boulevard.
