Hazardous Waste is any product labeled caution, warning, danger, poison, toxic, flammable or corrosive. This includes items such as household cleaners, paint, batteries, pool chemicals and automobile fluids.

Limits per drop-off or pick-up are 15 gallons or 125 pounds, and drop-offs require residents to bring proof of residency (Driver’s License, etc.) HHW sites and pick-up services do not accept explosives, or radioactive, biomedical or business wastes.

Household hazardous waste disposal service is provided by Waste Management and PSC.

The city offers residents free disposal at two facilities

1) with Waste Management at the Oceanside facility located at 2880 Industry Street.  Hours of operation are every other Saturday by appointment only.   760-929-9400

2) with PSC at the Vista facility located at 1145 East Taylor Street.  Hours of operation are every Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. 800-714-1195
