Recycling

Man throwing recyclables in the proper bin

More than 50 percent of household trash is recyclable.  Most plastics, glass, aluminum, tin and paper are recyclable.

Waste Management provides residents and businesses with recycling containers to make recycling easy and hassle-free.

It’s important to recycle, including those household hazardous waste items that many people might not initially think of recycling. This includes batteries, electronics, motor oil, paint and any product that has “caution” or “warning” on the label.  For more information go to Hazardous Waste.

Current information on proposed new services and rates.
  • Residential: Curbside recycling provides the most convenient means for residential households to recycle a variety of materials.
  • Business and multi family service: The City of Carlsbad’s authorized collector offers business recycling by providing a variety of bin sizes to choose from when signing up for service or as their business grows.
  • Tips: Learn how to "close the loop" by implementing tips to reduce, reuse and recycle!
