The City of Carlsbad offers residents subsidized compost bins through the Solana Center for Environmental Innovation. Solana Center is open Tuesdays and Thursdays 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and is located at 137 N. El Camino Real in Encinitas. For more information call 760-436-7986.

Composting Workshops
The city has also contracted with the Solana Center for a few composting workshop spaced throughout the year. The workshops, hosted by the Solana Center, will cover the basics of backyard composting, vermicomposting (composting with worms), trouble-shooting, and the benefits that each composting method can provide to your yard and garden.
