Solid Waste Disposal

The services of Trash Collection, Hazardous Waste Handling, and Recycling are covered through a partnership between the City of Carlsbad and two contractors. This is unavoidable, and we apologize for any inconvenience arising from this division of responsibility.  Use the following links to determine your service provider.

Hazardous Waste is any product labeled Caution, Warning, Danger, Poison, Toxic, Flammable or Corrosive. This includes items such as household cleaners, paint, batteries, pool chemicals and automobile fluids. Limits per drop-off or pick-up are 15 gallons or 125 pounds, and drop-offs require residents to bring proof of residency (Driver’s License, etc.) Our sites and pick-up services do not accept explosives, or radioactive, biomedical or business wastes.
