The City of Carlsbad is accepting applications for Citizen of the Year, which honors community members who, on a volunteer basis, have given unselfishly of time, energy, and means to the cause of civic improvement, beautification and betterment of the City of Carlsbad.

The deadline for nominations is April 3, 2026.

A five-person committee appointed by the Mayor will consider the following criteria in selecting up to two honorees:

• Long and faithful service to the community
• Distinguished service in a position of responsibility
• Enterprise, initiative, diligence, and care in the performance of a specific volunteer assignment
• Outstanding contribution to the development, growth and welfare of the community

This annual award is now in its 58^th year.
