Latest information from the San Diego County Air Pollution Control District showing air quality results are within standard ranges, but smoke advisory for tomorrow in Carlsbad due to fire on Camp Pendleton. Note the numbers below you can call with questions and concerns about air quality.

The San Diego County Air Pollution Control District has confirmed the odor along the North County coast is not related to the battery fire in Escondido.

Air Pollution Control District Statement

 

 

The County Office of Emergency Services put out the following statement Friday at 6 p.m.:

“The County Office of Emergency Services is monitoring reports of a strong odor along the north coastal areas of San Diego County.  The Air Pollution Control District is assessing the situation with support from the County’s Hazardous Incident Response Team. The Coast Guard has no reports of a spill in the area.”

The City of Carlsbad Fire Department is staying apprised of updates from the agencies involved, and the city will update this page when more information is available.
