    Project updates

    Construction near Carlsbad Blvd postponed

    Post Date:10/14/2025

Update: This scheduled construction has been postponed due to rain earlier in the week. Construction will be rescheduled in the coming weeks.

The City of Carlsbad has multiple projects in the works to make it easier to access the beach, including a future project to build new ADA-compliant access ramps. As part of this effort, crews will be in the grassy area along Carlsbad Boulevard, near Pine Avenue and Tamarack Avenue, to conduct exploratory drilling and take soil samples late next week. These samples will help the team gather information needed to finish the project’s design, plan for construction and obtain the permits needed.

    Construction hours
Thursday and Friday, Oct. 16 and 17
    7 a.m. to 4 p.m.

    What to expect

    • All sidewalks, travel lanes and parking on nearby streets will remain open
    • During work hours, you will notice heavy machinery and noise from the drilling
    • While all lanes on Carlsbad Blvd will remain open, traffic could slow down at times while trucks enter or exit the work sites.
