Terramar area options at City Council

    Post Date:10/23/2025 3:05 PM

On Oct. 28, the Carlsbad City Council will revisit options for improvements around the Terramar area along Carlsbad Boulevard and Cannon Road

View the agenda and staff report.

The City Manager is bringing this item forward to give the City Council an opportunity to re-evaluate the project’s scope with options to:

    • Confirm the City Council’s previous direction approving a roundabout at Carlsbad Boulevard and Cannon Road, a traffic signal at Carlsbad Boulevard at Cerezo Drive, lane reductions on Cannon Road west of the railroad tracks and other blufftop improvements
    • Approve a smaller scale project, which would not include a roundabout or lane reductions, but would repave and restripe the project area and add sidewalks on Carlsbad Boulevard south of Cannon Road
    • Approve a project that would only repave and restripe the project area, without a roundabout and lane reductions, and hold any additional changes until the Seaside Transaction Agreement with San Diego Gas & Electric Company and Cabrillo Power I, LLC is finalized, in about seven years
