    State & Laguna stop signs

    Post Date:02/20/2026 11:56 AM

New stop signs were installed at the intersection of State Street at Laguna Drive last week to help address community concerns about safety at the intersection. The City Council approved the new stop signs in January, and crews got to work to complete the improvements quickly.

Crews worked during early morning hours to avoid traffic impacts in the area. You can take a look behind-the-scenes in this video

    Why add stop signs?

    • In 2024, a new residential development was built on the west side of the intersection of Laguna Drive and State Street. Its driveway aligns directly with Laguna Drive, effectively adding a fourth leg to the intersection.

    • Community members have expressed concerns about limited visibility and traffic speeds near this intersection.

    • An all-way stop sign makes it easier and safer for pedestrians to cross State Street and make it easier for cars trying to cross or turn onto State Street.
